Blauschiefer Riesling dry – Estate Riesling

The grapes for the Blauschiefer Riesling are coming
from the Leiwener Klostergarten – A sparkle dark blue
slate gives this entering wine its name. As basic
Riesling this wine is already excellent. Made with
spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel the
Blauschiefer (blue slate) Riesling shows up with a
crispy minerality – a fine nuance of saltiness from the
slate, very elegant dry and perfect citrus fruitiness. A
refreshing acidity makes this wine a wonderful summer
Riesling with only 11,5% alcohol. The minerality kick
gives this estate wine its character „the estate wines are
some of the finest money can buy in 2020” – Mosel
Fine Wines 89 points. This wine is a classic pair to
asparagus and fish, brilliant for every occasion.
The 2021er Riesling Trocken Blauschiefer comes from
the hilly part of the Leiwener Klostergarten situated on
blue slate soil. It offers a superbly fresh and floral nose
with almond, ginger cream, and a hint of coconut. The
wine is super fresh, lean, and driven by zest on the
palate. The finish is even racy and beautifully linear
and precise. This has a lot of lightness and finesse,
with good intensity. There is still a hint of tartness in
the background in need of integration, so a little
