Stunning, georgeous Chenin, from the dry Savenneries AOC in Loire Valley. Finely poised flavors and aromas of Lime, Honey, white flowers, are stretched tight around the steely mineraly core of acid. Needs time, but so good now!
Tinta Roriz (Tempranillo), Touriga Franca, and Touriga Nacional aged 12 months in French oak barrels. With its black fruits, firm tannins and concentration, this is a sturdy, solid Portuguese red.
Open and pleasant nose showing pretty floral and ripe red berry fruit along with spicy oak. The palate is elegant and juicy with red apple, beetroot and dried cherries, along with autumnal aromas of dessicated leaves and underbrush.
Vaillons is a bit more powerful and structured, but Dauvissat's classic take has plenty of saline minerals and crisp acidity too. Soft touch of oak here buttresses the structure. Profound, and built to age.
A juicy light red with a particular fruit profile - proper purple/dark fruit profile, notes of blackberries, currants, a hint of pepper, and a whole lotta freshness. Very lean at only 10% abv, this is the perfect red to kick off any afternoon or evening.
Equally pretty white orchard fruit aromas that exhibit notes of oyster shell, citrus and quinine. Solidly concentrated medium weight flavors tightly wound so a few years of cellaring is possibly advisable. Fine quality and certainly worth a look.
Fragrant, deliciously aromatic, with fine tannins and a balance reminiscent of 2004. Like all late vintages, the 2018 Barolos require patience, yet offer gorgeous drinkability today already.
