A bright and informal red wine made from some of the same vineyard sites that provide fruit for the La Cerna. Lots of dark cherry and blackberry that just sits there, pretty in the glass. There is a soft creaminess to the fruit that caresses the palate.

A potpourri aroma leads to a soft, lushly layered core of baked fruit, with lifted acidity and broad tannins supporting this single-vineyard wine. White pepper and forest floor tones play along, showing the intensity often found from the site.

The nose is quite pretty, black flowers, cassis, plum, cocoa nib, oak spice and mint. On the palate this is moderate in weight for a Cab with a mix of blue and black fruits, cocoa nib, blue and black fruits and mixed spices.
